“The Moody Center is coming to you this semester with a series of pop-up art events because we know that side of campus (the distant 10 minutes away) requires a lot of effort to get to. So instead, we’ll be taking over the JuiceBOX mobile grid units in front of South Servery to give the student body a taste of what the Moody Center will have to offer once it opens next semester.
PART II: Graffiti, Paint, & Film:
– Free Crave Cupcakes and hor d’oeuvres!
– Graffiti workshop with Michael C. Rodriguez => http://michael-rodriguez.com/blog/
– Interactive Installation and origami workshop by Rice’s Art & Engineering Club

– Collaborative Painting
– Student film screenings
– Moody button making”
I’m very behind on posts so lets just pretend its still July.
I finally got over bronchitis four weeks ago. I can’t remember ever being that sick in a long time. During my first week, I woke up one morning suffocating, and choking uncontrollably and then fell out of bed onto the floor. Thankfully, I was able to barely inhale some air after constantly hitting my chest with my fist.
It was a scary situation and had to go to the doctor asap. I was put on an inhaler and a bunch of other medication. I’m glad its finally over.
It was a long 4 weeks but I think the most positive part was hanging out with my pup, Mops. He didn’t leave my side the whole time while I was sick. As soon as I felt better, I started taking him to the park almost all day, everyday. The only problem with Mops and the park is that as soon as he sees a female, he has to run to them to say hello. Maybe he’s just trying to tell me something.
I really enjoying designing and making art pretty much every free second I have, but recently I realized that I haven’t been out in months again. I think I need to take it easy and try to have some sort of life this winter. Usually when I try to take a break I automatic feel like I’m wasting time and I could be making something! I’m sure the cold weather/upcoming work schedule will not help either. I’m starting a list of important projects of what my break needs to entail.
I actually have a super long list of artists/models that want to collaborate, so I think that is something I will focus on. Below is one of my FAVORITE colab peices I made with my friends/favorite HOU artists: ACK!, ANVILLE, EYESORE, ERIC CASTORENA, & my sis, MOLLY CLARK.
I just recently found a stack of test prints which I’m trying to give away!
I wish there was a way to give everyone something. I’ll figure out something…
I am finally going to open up my web store. Its about time!
I have a sketchbook full of ideas/designs that I have been adding to for the past 2 years.
I’m very excited and I will post updates on here once the wheels start moving!

THE MAKING OF THE HOUSTON ZOO GORILLA MURAL
I’m glad that I was able to put this video together before it was too late. This mural was painted on heavy textured brick with little paint brushes. It was a challenge!
POP SHOP HOUSTON FESTIVAL INSTALLATIONS 2015
I had the best time at Popshop Houston Fest this year. I designed the poster and very happy with the outcome. I also live-painted for the first time.
I don’t know how I feel about live-painting at the moment. I realized I paint slower than I thought. The highlight was receiving my Makers Award for ‘Best Muralist”.
I finally put it in my studio. Thanks PopShop!
SUMMERFEST MUSIC FESTIVAL ART INSTALLATION 2015
These were all snatched away during the fest. I had a feeling that would happen 😉
STAR WARS DAY SHORT ANIMATION!
FOODZ DOODZ ART SHOW @ CATACOMB
I have big plans for these two best friends. I’m going to get them print on something soon. Lets hope Mr. Bunny doesn’t get too hungry by then.
This piece was bought by the wonderful artist, Katsola! Thanks, Kat!
I just finished being interviewed for a TV Show that will air on PBS next month. I will post the interview once I get a copy to upload.
CW 39 – NewsFlix
I was featured in a segment on NewsFlix this month regarding my recent Zoo mural. I will upload a clip once I get a copy!
I am also going to be featured in a new Art Documentary that should be out late 2015. The documentary with feature more of a personal interview about my life and my work. I will post more info when the time comes.
The Indies 2015 Texas Maker Award – PopshopAmerica
Thank you @popshopamerica for the nomination and everyone who voted for me in the muralist category.
And of course, there are so many muralists here in Houston who are amazing and inspiring. I’m looking forward on seeing more Houston murals out there in the future.
I love being uncomfortable with my work. I love the feeling of not knowing what I am doing all the time and creating as I go along. When I feel too comfortable it usually means it is time to change. I can’t do the same thing for too long. I get very bored really fast. Recently I have been experiment as much as possible and I am excited to see where it takes me. Growth is always important.
New portrait illustration series coming next year. I was able to present a few (not pictured) for Smithsonian Portrait Gallery /Latino Center while they were in town last month. I am looking forward to following up with them when the time comes.
Illustrating FPH ‘Worst Of…” January Issue
I am currently illustrating the ‘Worst Of…’ January issue of Free Press Houston. It’s lots of work squeezed into only few free holidays. So far, so good.

I was hoping to get a better close up of the full illustration but the formatting on this blog is very limited. You can click on the image to view bigger.

Papercity Magazine – December Issue
Look out for Papercity magazine this month. I will be in an article about Winter Street Studios here in Houston.
I am very happy to announce that starting next year I will be working with the Houston Zoo on a very cool project. I hate saying this all the time but….I will post more info once all the details are finalized.
